When the Teacher Hurt Me

I'm a very sensitive person. Though I can be quite sensitive emotionally, I mean this in the physical sense. Be it temperature or touch, it can be very intense. I've never really liked being touched because it can be quite painful, especially regarding my back. I can recall the favourite game among friends at age eleven being to poke me in the back when I least expected it: They liked to watch me jump. It was a cruel game, but children can be cruel. However, when I was about thirteen I had a cruel teacher. I wasn't a huge fan of her to begin with, I thought she was a bit loud and too free to share her personal opinions. That and I thought she was an idiot, but that's a story for another time. Having been so young, my teachers were told about my juvenile arthritis and all that fun stuff. Unfortunately for me, this teacher couldn't hear over her own thoughts. I think I had even brought it up with this teacher, trying to help her remember when she made us do experime...

Rules for Life

Recently, I've been reminded of the rules. They're not fair at all. Then again, what is? People are not always going to treat you as you treat them. There is going to be favouritism over you. Others will be treated much better than you. But don't fret; So long as you treat yourself well, you are untouchable. Your self worth is a priceless gift to yourself. You are beautiful and never let anyone convince you otherwise. "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent," Eleanor Roosevelt. There is very little given. You have to take. Don't miss out on anything because it wasn't given to you. Push until you get what you need. Fight for your rights, your needs, your dreams. You owe it to yourself to achieve everything and anything that you could possibly ever dream of. If there is a will, there's a way. Realise that we will not always have a direct way of solving problems. Sometimes we must wait it out. It may be very painful journey. I beg yo...

Night of Ice and Blood. A Lot of Blood.

Yesterday I was invited to go to one of my friend's houses. She has a little ice skating rink, so my friends and I were invited to skate. One of my friends was on crutches, and when she walked in everyone said "Wow, Elizabeth, it's not you this time!" :) We all had a lovely meal, and then most of us got on the ice. We were all having a wonderful time, because even if you weren't skating, you were sitting next to a warm fire. Some of the boys couldn't find ice skates in their size so they just walked on the ice, which was very funny. A common thing you heard when I got on the ice was "Elizabeth, don't hurt yourself again." Some of us started pushing one another on these sort of plastic boxes. Finally it was my turn to push a friend who was sitting on one. We barely even left where we started when I felt some sort of force push against me (I suspect the girl's skate, as she said she was trying to help push herself). That force caused us to tip...

Skating Pain

I love hanging out with friends. I love doing fun things with my friends. I hate getting hurt in front of my friends. Especially when it's a birthday. A few days ago my friends and I went rollerskating to celebrate my good friend's birthday. None of us had gone skating in a long time, in fact I haven't roller skated since I was eleven, maybe twelve. So I got on the floor, fell once when I wasn't paying attention. I laughed and said, "All you need is one good fall and you're set!" I was fine and we skated for awhile longer. Then I forgot which foot you use to stop. And  I panicked. And fell. On my wrist. Hard. I was actually fine for a few minutes and then I noticed it hurt. I tried to chill it with my drink and it helped a minute, but more or less I couldn't really use it and I somewhat couldn't move it. It got worse later into the night. Granted I had an excellent time watching friends who never skated before learn slowly let steadily, seeing mor...
